Sasha Ivanochko

Sasha is a Toronto based dancer, teacher and choreographer, as well as artistic director of her own company, black and blue dance projects. She “….is so damned expressive, you could sell tickets to watch her cross the street.” (NOW magazine, June 2005) She has performed with a number of companies including Toronto Dance Theatre, and with many independent choreographers including Peggy Baker and Peter Chin. Sasha has taught at all the major universities, dance schools and festivals across Canada. Her choreography has been presented by, amongst others, Danceworks, Dusk Dances, the Canadian Dance Festival (Ottawa) and Tangente (Montreal). Some of her commissioned work has been performed by Toronto Dance Theatre and Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers. Her own company has performed across Canada, in Japan and in Santo Domingo. Sasha has developed a unique training methodology to enable participants to access a range of tools needed for a career in contemporary dance.
