Canadian dance artist and performer Brendan Wyatt was born in rural Saskatchewan. He started dancing at the age of four and later spent nine years training at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. In 1997 he co-created and instructed an interactive dance program for visually impaired students with the Sooke 62 School Board and the CNIB, Victoria BC. Wyatt has taught specialized workshops/rehearsal direction for Dreamwalker Dance Company, Karen Jamieson Dance, ProArte Danza, The Toronto District School Board, The School of Toronto Dance Theatre and The Chimera Project. One of the country’s most sought after independent artists Wyatt has performed in a multitude of professional works. In 2008 he was a founding member of The Dietrich Group with Director/Choreographer DA Hoskins and dance artist Danielle Baskerville. The Group was created as a platform for the creation and production of multidisciplinary dance works. In 2010 he was the recipient of a Dora Mavor Moore Award for his performance in ‘this time’ an aldheid production by Heidi Strauss and was nominated in 2011 for outstanding choreography with Andrea Nann in ‘Beside Each Other.’ Wyatt is currently collaborating on projects with Dreamwalker Dance Company, Bouchardanse, Tiger Princess Dance Projects, blackandblue dance projects and ProArte Danza.
