Kate Franklin

Toronto-based dance artist Kate Franklin has worked with choreographers Kate Alton, Matjash Mrozewski and Matt Waldie, and companies Kaeja d’Dance, Zata Omm Dance Projects and ProArte Danza, among others.  She traveled to Fringe Shanghai in the fall of 2006 to perform with T’art Dances.  In 2008, she was honoured to appear in 25, a celebration of Premiere Dance Theatre’s 25th anniversary.

With Kate Holden, Kate is the co-artistic director of firstthingsfirst productions. Most recently the company opened the DanceWorks 2009/10 season with Namesake: three, a mixed program of world premieres by Kate Alton, Marc Boivin (Montreal), and Emily Molnar (Vancouver).
