An award winning dance artist, Kate Holden is a graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and Etobicoke School of the Arts. Concurrent with her professional training, she performed frequently with PBJ Dance and Gabby Kamino. Kate has had the pleasure of interpreting the works of many esteemed Canadian choreographers, including Peggy Baker, Roberto Campanella, Robert Desrosiers, David Earle, Sylvain Emard, Sasha Ivanochko, James Kudelka, Michael Trent, Andrea Nann, and Yvonne Ng,; with appearances across North America, France, Britain, Holland and Singapore. Kate spent five seasons as a company member of Dancemakers under the artistic direction of Michael Trent and has also been a dancer with the Danny Grossman Dance Company. She currently works as Co-Artistic Director of Firstthingsfirst Productions alongside Kate Franklin.
In addition to her work as a dancer, Kate is very active in the dance community as an emerging teacher and choreographer, and was a board member of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists from 2003-2008.
